Are you interested in coding or app development—and using your skills to make a positive impact?

The Congressional App Challenge is an annual program hosted by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives. It invites students in grades 6–12 to create and submit original apps or websites that address real issues in their communities. Winners are invited to Washington, D.C., to showcase their projects at the U.S. Capitol and meet with members of Congress.

If you’re interested in participating, we are offering a free, 4-week program led by past Congressional App Challenge winners. Students will receive step-by-step guidance on the technical side of app creation, including how to brainstorm ideas and build a functional app. The program also offers personalized mentorship from these past winners on app design and features, as well as support with completing and submitting the Congressional App Challenge application. Sessions will begin the week of July 7 and will be held twice a week. Each week’s two sessions will cover the similar content, so students can attend whichever session fits their schedule best each week. We will get back to you soon with additional information once you have filled the interest form!
